To optimize immediate water management, the BMA maintains 24-hour monitoring, proactive canal draining, and rigorous machinery checks. Collaborating with neighboring provinces and the Royal Irrigation Department, the BMA is expediting the launch of the Bueng Nong Bon drainage tunnel system by late 2026. For long-term resilience, a five-year extension project stretching from Bueng Nong Bon to Khlong Prawet Burirom and Khlong Si is slated to begin construction in late 2026. With a maximum capacity of 60 cubic meters per second, this critical tunnel will rapidly channel up to 4 million cubic meters of floodwater into the Chao Phraya River, mitigating economic and transport disruptions across six districts: Lat Krabang, Nong Chok, Khlong Sam Wa, Min Buri, Saphan Sung, and Prawet.

Infrastructure readiness is nearing peak capacity for the rainy season. As of July 2, 2026, the BMA cleared 98.1% of drainage pipes, dredged over 82% of key canals, and opened 99% of waterways. Supporting this network are four drainage tunnels, 207 pumping stations, 244 sluice gates, 371 pumping wells, and 12 mobile units. Furthermore, 100% of the city’s 560 water pumping stations are installed, with local pump distribution finalizing this July. Operations are backed by the BMA Flood Prevention Center, which integrates real-time data from two weather radars and hundreds of rainfall, flood, and water level monitoring stations. For real-time updates on rainfall and operations, citizens can access the BMA’s Drainage and Sewerage Department website and E-book, Facebook (Bangkok.Water and bkk.best), Instagram (@ddsbma.pr), Twitter (@bkk_best), TikTok (@dds.bma), LINE Official Account (@ddsbma and @bkk_best), or contact via telephone at 0 2248 5115 and fax at 0 2246 0320.

#FloodPrevention #BMA #DrainageAndSewerageDepartment

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), led by M …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “BMA Advances Comprehensive Flood Mitigation and Infrastructure Upgrade for Eastern Bangkok”

[267

post-625428","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
