During the event, she presided over a certificate presentation ceremony for participating organizations and highlighted the BMA’s commitment to driving a sustainable waste management policy through a combination of legal and economic measures. Central to this strategy is the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Ordinance on Service Fees for Excreta or Solid Waste Management under the Law on Public Health, B.E. 2568 (2025), which took effect in October 2025 to incentivize source-based waste separation.

Alongside this ordinance, the BMA runs parallel initiatives such as the “No Mixed Waste” project, which offers a reduced monthly household waste collection fee of 20 baht, down from 60 baht, for residents who separate waste at the source and register on the BKK WASTE PAY application. For large organizations and businesses, the collection fees are determined by waste volume, directly motivating companies to lower operational costs by minimizing waste. Dr. Lertluck noted that this targeted economic strategy has successfully transformed urban behaviors, garnering excellent cooperation with over 1 million registered citizens and significantly increasing waste separation rates across both commercial and residential sectors.

From an economic and environmental perspective, the BMA is focusing on transforming waste management value into carbon credits by shifting away from landfilling toward organic composting to reduce carbon emissions. Emphasizing partnership over regulation, the BMA is actively fostering public-private collaboration through the BKK Net Zero network. Dr. Lertluck stressed that systemic cooperation and a shared “green heart” are essential for success, from eco-friendly product design to food waste reduction. To lead by example, the BMA is implementing green initiatives within its own operations, such as installing solar panels in BMA-affiliated hospitals and planning to transition government vehicles to electric models, all moving toward a definitive Net Zero target by 2030.

#BMA

On June 17, 2026, Dr. Lertluck Leelaruangsang, Deputy P …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “BMA Drives Sustainable Waste Management and Collaborates with Business Sector to Achieve Net Zero Goal by 2030”

[267

post-619876","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
