Part of the broader “Bangkok, City for Better Health” initiative, the event recognized 40 pilot schools and presented outstanding performance awards to five exemplary institutions: Na Luang School, Wat Sala Daeng School, Wat Suttharam Secondary School, Mu Ban Ko Pho School, and Pracha Bamrung School. Held in the Rattanakosin Room at Bangkok City Hall, the ceremony marked a critical step in addressing urban childhood obesity, which Dr. Lertluck noted impacts long-term health, learning energy, and overall quality of life. By instilling health literacy early on, the curriculum acts as a foundational tool to systematically transform children’s dietary and physical habits.

The “Bangkok, City for Better Health” initiative is a strategic partnership established in June 2025 between the BMA, the Danish Embassy in Thailand, and Novo Nordisk Pharma (Thailand) to foster health equity. From January to March 2026, the curriculum was piloted across grades 1, 4, 7, and 10 in 40 BMA schools, split into 21 experimental and 19 control institutions. Under the program, operations staff and educators engaged students in proactive wellness activities, including color-coded nutrition labeling, reading food packages, utilizing health journals, and designing personalized exercise regimes. Evaluation data revealed that students in the experimental group achieved a significant increase in health knowledge scores and maintained stable health behaviors, whereas the control group showed a decline in behavior scores. Following these positive outcomes, the BMA working group aims to expand the curriculum to 120 schools in the current academic year, with the ultimate goal of scaling the program across all 437 BMA schools by 2027 to cultivate healthier future citizens.

#BMA

On June 12, 2026, Dr. Lertluck Leelaruangsang, Deputy P …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “BMA Awards Certificates to 40 Schools Implementing ‘Don’t Let Kids Get Obese’ Curriculum to Combat Childhood Obesity”

[267

post-618347","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
