This initiative aims to accelerate the advancement of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was facilitated through strategic collaborations with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Thailand, the European Union (EU), the Ministry of Interior, and consulting firm ERM-Siam Co., Ltd. Miss Kanokwan emphasized the importance of the SDGs as a critical framework for development, ensuring equitable benefits for all residents of Bangkok across vital sectors, including poverty alleviation, healthcare, public education, and environmental conservation.

As Thailand’s primary economic and cultural hub, Bangkok plays a leading role in localized sustainable development. The newly introduced VLR report acts as a foundational roadmap to evaluate the capital’s current progress, identifying areas requiring extra support, and shaping inclusive urban policies. This initiative is part of the broader SDG Localization Phase II project, which spans five pilot areas, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Tak, Narathiwat, and Bangkok. By utilizing a localized provincial SDG Profile, the workshop trained attendees to analyze real-world data, prioritize urgent environmental and social needs, and establish systematic indicator systems to track long-term results.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, underscoring that sustainable urban growth requires cross-sector collaboration. Key attendees included international delegates from the UNDP and EU, alongside representatives from various BMA entities, such as the Strategy and Evaluation, Environment, Health, and Digital departments. External partners like the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Navamindradhiraj University, and Thammasat University also participated, combining state resources with academic and private sector expertise to ensure Bangkok achieves its sustainable targets.

On May 27, 2026, Miss Kanokwan Eiamlim, Deputy Permanen …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “BMA Partners with Global Allies to Launch Voluntary Local Review Workshop for Sustainable Development”

[267

post-611408","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
