This modernization effort aims to mitigate delays and address inconsistencies in decision-making. Mr. Aekvarunyoo Amrapala, the BMA spokesman, indicated that the organization has succeeded in compressing an initial eight-year development timeline into a five-year period. A significant milestone was achieved in 2026, during which the BMA reduced physical documentation by over 90% through the implementation of digital filing systems and standardized expert checklists. This transformation not only decreases operational costs and increases review efficiency but also positions AI as a key support tool for officials, signifying a departure from the burdensome, paper-intensive processes that historically required individual projects to submit documentation exceeding 200 kilograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking forward, the BMA intends to extend this digital framework to the private sector, as well as to establish a public open-data platform by 2028. This initiative will ensure that project monitoring and environmental impacts remain transparent and verifiable. The strategic roadmap includes real-world pilot testing of AI systems scheduled for 2027, culminating in the integration of post-approval monitoring mechanisms designed to safeguard community welfare. To advance this mission, the BMA will conduct a seminar on May 8, 2026, to showcase these innovative tools and solicit feedback from multiple sectors.
