The project, managed by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) in partnership with C&G Environmental Protection (Thailand) Co., Ltd., is designed to process at least 1,000 tons of solid waste daily to generate electricity. During the site visit, which included officials from the BMA Environment Department, it was reported that actual construction progress has reached 93.71%. Key completed works include the waste transport bridge, anaerobic wastewater treatment tanks, and the installation of high-pressure boilers and a 30-megawatt generator. As of May 1, 2026, the plant started accepting waste to prepare for formal incineration trials, utilizing a stoker-type system that operates at temperatures between 850 and 1,100 degrees Celsius to convert refuse into high-pressure steam for power generation.

In addition to monitoring technical progress, Deputy Governor Chakkaphan issued strict directives to ensure the facility remains a good neighbor to the surrounding community. The BMA has instructed contractors to implement rigorous odor-control measures, such as double-layered entry doors and scheduled access for garbage trucks. Safety protocols have also been prioritized, including the installation of proximity warning systems for trucks and mandatory safety harnesses for personnel working near the disposal pits to prevent accidents. Furthermore, the project must strictly adhere to PM2.5 mitigation strategies to minimize air pollution. Once fully operational in November 2026, this 30-rai facility will serve as a cornerstone of the BMA’s waste management strategy, significantly reducing the city’s reliance on landfills in neighboring provinces and providing a sustainable, environmentally friendly solution for urban refuse disposal.

#GoodEnvironment #GoodManagement

Mr. Chakkaphan Phewngam, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, re …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “Nong Khaem Waste-to-Energy Plant Reaches 93.71% Completion as BMA Begins Incineration System Testing”

[267

post-600393","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
