During his inspection, the Governor emphasized that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is moving away from the cycle of simple cash handouts in favor of a sustainable “career-first” model. Central to this effort is a “Board of Inspiration”, prominently displayed at the center, which serves as both a “Hall of Fame” for those who have successfully transitioned into the workforce and a talent directory for those still seeking employment opportunities. By focusing on vocational training in fields like hairdressing, electrical work, and cooking, the BMA is helping residents regain their independence and dignity through stable employment rather than temporary financial relief.

The effectiveness of this model is already evident, with 17 residents from Ban Im Chai successfully securing employment across diverse sectors, ranging from assistant chefs and plumbers to security guards and housekeepers. Governor Chadchart praised the social enterprises and private companies, including Thamturakit Social Enterprise, the MRT project, F.B. Cleaning, and RGM Security, for opening their doors to these skilled individuals. While critics might argue that 17 success stories represent only a small fraction of the city’s homeless population, the Governor countered that for those individuals, the transformation is absolute. They are no longer living on the streets; they are now contributing members of the workforce with stable lives and a renewed sense of purpose.

The atmosphere at the shelter, which currently houses 50 to 60 residents, remains one of harmony and ambition as individuals focus on refining their vocational skills. The BMA is actively inviting entrepreneurs and business owners to look toward Ban Im Chai when they need reliable workers for their businesses. By bridging the gap between skilled labor and employment opportunities, the city aims to keep the “Board of Inspiration” constantly updated with new success stories. This initiative underscores a fundamental belief that while the city cannot solve homelessness for thousands overnight, providing a clear path to a career is the most effective way to ensure a permanent and sustainable new beginning for those ready to take the first step.

#BanImChai #GoodSafety #BMA #Bangkok

On March 17, 2026, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “From the Streets to the Staffing List: Governor Chadchart Hails ‘Careers over Cash’ Approach at Ban Im Chai”

[267

post-585280","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
