The Command Center\u2019s sophisticated dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of the city’s vitals, displaying real-time PM2.5 levels, canal water heights, and even the locations of vulnerable residents, such as bedridden patients, to ensure prioritized care during emergencies. A notable technological highlight is the adaptive traffic control system, currently operational at 74 major intersections, including Sukhumvit and Rama IV. This system automatically adjusts traffic signal timings based on real-time traffic volume to alleviate congestion; however, police officers maintain manual override capabilities to clear paths for ambulances and emergency responders. Governor Chadchart emphasized that this integration transcends surveillance, it is aimed at leveraging technology to enhance urban productivity and improve the everyday quality of life for all residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 24, 2026, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor Bangkok,<\/span> <\/strong>and Mr. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, conducted a final inspection of the newly established \u201cBMA Command Center\u201d at Bangkok City Hall in Din Daeng. This initiative represents a significant advancement towards a smarter and more integrated urban environment. The facility is designed to serve as the city\u2019s central “brain,” consolidating previously fragmented data streams encompassing traffic congestion, drainage systems, and air quality monitoring into a unified, high-tech hub. By unifying these resources, the BMA aims to move away from disjointed departmental silos and toward a model of rapid, data-driven incident command. The Command Center is currently interconnected with over 36,000 CCTV cameras, with plans to scale up to 60,000. Additionally, private sector entities are being invited to connect their public-facing cameras, thereby enhancing overall urban safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Command Center approaches full operational status, the BMA is advancing its transition towards digital and cloud-based services, thereby reducing the necessity for citizens to visit government offices in person.
