During a panel discussion titled “Guidelines for Participatory Employment of Persons with Disabilities in the Public Sector for a Sustainable Future,” Miss Aranya Pornchaiya, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA, highlighted the BMA’s evolution from offering volunteer roles to becoming the first Thai agency to formally induct persons with disabilities into the civil service. This shift, sparked by the Governor of Bangkok’s 2022 policy framework, focuses on treating skilled individuals with equity and dignity. The initiative began by placing volunteers in all 50 district offices before launching specialized recruitment exams tailored to accommodate various disabilities while ensuring professional standards are met.

The impact of this program is already evident, with over 100 individuals currently serving as BMA civil servants and an additional 20 to 30 teaching in affiliated schools. To sustain this momentum, Miss Aranya announced that the BMA will hold new recruitment exams in 2026 for both administrative and teaching positions. The success of this model is rooted in the “3 Good” principles: Good Support, Good Process, and Good Persons. By refining these strategies, the BMA has created a blueprint for meaningful inclusion that moves beyond mere compliance to foster genuine professional growth and self-worth.

The seminar served as a collaborative platform, as representatives from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Transport, and Srinakharinwirot University actively joined the discussion. Their direct involvement in the panel underscored a collective commitment to developing sustainable employment models and sharing operational successes across the public sector. Miss Aranya encouraged all government bodies to adopt these established frameworks, stressing that vigilance and shared guidelines are essential to achieving a future where equality for persons with disabilities is the standard throughout the Thai civil service.

#BMA #GoodManagement

On February 23, 2026, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administ …

อ่านเพิ่มเติม “BMA Leads Thailand in Hiring Persons with Disabilities as Permanent Civil Servants”

[267

post-580580","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eng0
["GET
