Mr. Mark Gooding, British Ambassador, have signed a Letter of Intent under the Thailand-UK PACT Programme, marking a significant milestone in Bangkok\u2019s climate action journey. The partnership aims to leverage British expertise to accelerate sustainable urban development and enhance environmental resilience in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration centers on three strategic pillars designed to modernize Bangkok\u2019s transport infrastructure. A primary focus is Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), which aims to transform areas surrounding BTS and MRT stations into seamless, pedestrian-friendly hubs. By integrating community spaces and retail into transit nodes, the BMA hopes to encourage a shift from private vehicles to public transportation. Furthermore, the BMA will analyze London\u2019s successful urban models, specifically Congestion Charges and Low Emission Zones (LEZs), to determine their viability for Bangkok\u2019s city center. The objective is to drastically reduce urban pollution while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency of the public transit network.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Governor Chadchart emphasized a commitment to an &#8220;equitable transition&#8221; regarding electric vehicles (EVs), ensuring that the shift to green technology benefits all citizens.
