On January 22, 2026, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, welcomed a delegation of Yachiyo Youth Ambassadors to Bangkok City Hall, marking the 38th consecutive year of a successful cultural exchange between Bangkok and Yachiyo City, Japan. The delegation, led by Mr. Minegishi Shuichi of the Yachiyo City Education Commission, included twelve youth ambassadors participating in a program designed to foster amicable relations and facilitate knowledge sharing between the two cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Governor Chadchart highlighted that the initiative is a cornerstone of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration\u2019s (BMA) educational strategy. He emphasized that the program is specifically designed to cultivate “global citizenship” among students. By encouraging direct cultural interaction, the exchange allows students to better appreciate multicultural societies and develop essential life skills, such as discipline and principled behavior. The Governor expressed his hope that the visit would be joyful, safe, and successful, contributing to the broader goal of enhancing the arts and culture of both nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Minegishi Shuichi expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality, noting that the friendly ties between Thailand and Japan have been sustained for over 600 years. He pointed out that the youth program itself has flourished for nearly four decades, serving as a testament to the enduring camaraderie between Bangkok and Yachiyo. He voiced his commitment to continuing this cooperative effort to benefit young citizens in both cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Originally established in 1989, the Youth Ambassador Exchange Program focuses on improving language proficiency and deepening the understanding of traditional and contemporary arts and customs. The welcoming ceremony was also attended by Deputy Governor Sanon Wangsrangboon and Education Department Director-General Pissamai Rueangsil, underscoring the BMA\u2019s commitment to international educational cooperation and the development of the next generation of leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
